Tirana Airport to the City Centre: Bus, Private Transfer or Door-to-Door?
Updated October 17, 2026 · 5 min read
The short answer: if you are travelling alone or as a couple, the 24/7 airport bus to Tirana Central is the best value at €5.75 per person, 4.6 stars from 1,858 reviews, and a listed journey of 20 minutes. For a group of up to four, the private ride to your accommodation costs €19 per group. For a hotel door pickup per person, the door-to-door transfer is €13.
Bus or private ride: the arithmetic
The bus is priced per person; the private ride is priced per group of up to four. Four people on the bus pay €23 in total; the same four in the private ride pay €19, and arrive at their accommodation instead of at the central stop. One or two travellers will pay less on the bus. Three travellers pay roughly the same either way, so convenience decides.
The five options in one table
| Option | Duration | Price | Rating | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 24/7 bus to Tirana Central | 20 minutes | €5.75 per person | 4.6 (1,858 reviews) | Solo travellers, late arrivals on a budget |
| Private ride or 3-stop tour | 1 hour | €19 per group of up to 4 | 4.5 (54 reviews) | Families and small groups |
| Door-to-door airport transfer | 30 minutes | €13 per person | 5.0 (1 review) | Pickup and drop-off at your door |
| Hotel to airport transfer | 1 hour | €19.20 per person | 4.7 (23 reviews) | The trip home, with luggage |
| Private transfer to Berat, Vlorë and beyond | Not listed | €44.96 per group of up to 3 | 4.6 (14 reviews) | Going straight on to another town |
The bus: what you get and what you give up
The bus listing promises a modern, air-conditioned coach between Tirana International Airport and Tirana Central, running around the clock. That 24/7 claim is its real strength: if your flight lands at 3 a.m., a fixed price beats negotiating with a driver. The cost of the low price is the last mile. You end up at the central stop, not at your door, so with heavy luggage or children you may still need a short taxi ride.

The private ride and its three-stop twist
The private ride goes to your accommodation, or you can add stops at Skanderbeg Square, Tirana Castle and the Pyramid of Tirana. That turns a transfer into a short first look at the city, which helps if you land in the morning and cannot check in yet. Note that the listing says the ride to Durrës and Golem is a separate booking.

Door-to-door: cheap but barely reviewed
The door-to-door listing says that for arrivals your driver monitors your flight and waits if it is delayed. That is useful, but it has a single review, so treat its 5.0 as a promise rather than a track record. The hotel-to-airport listing, at €19.20, has more reviews and is the one to book for your departure.
What we do not quote
We do not give a taxi fare, because the listings give none and we will not invent one. If you take a taxi, agree the price before you get in.
Our recommendation
Take the 24/7 bus if you are one or two people and your accommodation is near the centre. Take the private ride if you are three or four, or if you arrive tired and with luggage.
